Oakley Cleaning has been operating as a residential pressure washing company in Basingstoke since November 1998. Soft-washing typically is used when we clean roofs, render and some brickwork. Typically, patios and driveways are cleaned with higher pressure methods and equipment. Additionally, if you wish, we can supply driveway and patio surface sealants. These are used to help maintain the appearance and integrity of hard standing areas, extend the time before re-cleaning is required, and to minimise weed growth. In order to reduce the need or frequency of repeat cleans, we can also supply a range of biocides. These are residual, long-term treatments that are applied directly to the cleaned surface, thereby prolonging the time before a return visit is required.
The two roofs on the buildings shown below are in close proximity, on the same plot of land in the village of Baughurst, between Basingtoke and Newbury. Regarding the roof on the left, the owner was inclined to have the roof manually cleared of moss and treated with a biocide to inhibit it's return. The roof on the right was significantly worse in appearance due to the amount of moss growth and other contaminants (lichens and algae). This roof underwent a light pressure wash, followed by an oxidisation treatment to quickly kill any organisms. This was followed up by a biocide application to deter regrowth of these contaminants. A regular biocide treatment, probably once every two to three years, is recommended to prevent any re-growth. Regular re-treatments mean a cleaner roof, clearer gutters and superior 'kerb appeal' at a cheaper cost.
